The rows marked “with consent” appear only after you agree in the dialog described below. Decline and Google writes none of them — the only trace of your visit is the record of your own refusal. Nothing else on this host writes to your browser: there is no account to log into and no form to submit.

Advertising and consent

This site carries adverts from Google AdSense. Those adverts, together with voluntary reader support, are what pay for the servers, the database and the domains — which is how everything here stays free with no paid tier.

Before Google stores anything on your device you will see a consent dialog, run by Google Funding Choices, a consent-management platform certified by Google and required for traffic from the European Economic Area. It gives you three real answers, and none of them closes any content:

  • Consent — personalised adverts. Google writes the cookies listed above and may choose adverts using your activity elsewhere as well as here.
  • Refuse — non-personalised adverts, chosen from the content of the page you are on and your approximate location. Google may still use limited device access for frequency capping and fraud detection, but does not build a profile of you from it.
  • Manage options — purpose by purpose and vendor by vendor, under the IAB TCF standard.

You can change your answer at any time and without giving a reason:

Google describes its own cookies in its cookie policy and how it uses them for advertising in its advertising policy. You can also turn personalisation off at source, across every Google service, in My Ad Center.

Cookieless analytics

We still want to know which entries are read, so we use Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookie and gives you no identifier that outlives the day. What we get back is aggregate: which page, from which country, and on which kind of device.

Because nothing is stored on your device for this, the rule that requires consent does not apply to it — the dialog above is about advertising only. The processing itself rests on legitimate interest, and you can object to it: see the Privacy Policy.

Where there are no adverts

Adverts appear inside editorial entries. They are kept off the legal pages, and on the Polish edition off the safety pages — first aid, poisoning symptoms, toxic species, lookalikes and the toxicology centres. That is an editorial decision rather than a requirement: a page someone reaches mid-poisoning is not a place to sell anything.

What we do not do

  • No analytics cookies — the analytics work without them.
  • No advertising cookie is written before you answer the dialog.
  • No selling or sharing of your data by us.
  • No profiling by us — adverts are selected by Google, and only as far as you allow.
  • No content is withheld from anyone who declines.

Blocking cookies

You can block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings. Every page here reads exactly the same with them switched off entirely; deleting the consent record simply means the dialog asks again.
